Any other time, the words "don't leave me again" might have scared him. That sounded a lot like a request for something more than just giving comfort when she was upset. Normally, it would have made him step back and assess the situation but in the heat of the moment, with her hands inside of her boxers and her body pressed against him he couldn't bring himself to care that much just at the moment.
